Sod Installation

Sod Installation

Replacing your grass due to excessive insect damage or maintenance issues can be a project. Over the last 24 years we have removed and replaced millions of square feet of sod.

This is our process:

  1. Chemically kill the existing weeds and grass.
  2. After a 3-to-7-day period, the grass will appear dead.
  3. We then remove the dead and remaining dying grass with a mechanical sod cutting machine.
  4. Next, we rake up and remove all of the cut-out sod. This will leave you with a fresh grade of dirt, virtually weed free for the installation of new grass.
  5. Before the new is grass installed, we determine whether it is a full sun or shade tolerant variety and install it accordingly.
NOTE: Upon completion of the sod installation, we recommend that you contact a locate Fertilization & Pest Control company to begin immediate treatment for your lawn.

Sod is a living product that can start to deteriorate within the first few days of installation if proper care is not implemented immediately. Therefore, we do not offer any warranty on sod, It is the responsibility of the owner to adequately water and treat, if necessary, the sod during the grow in period (approx. 30 to 45 days). We can assist in setting the timer on your irrigation system to ensure adequate watering. We also strongly recommend that you hire a licensed pest control company that can adequately treat the turf for any type of disease or insect infestation. This type of service should be hired and scheduled within the first 72 hours upon the installation of the grass.  Once sod is established, you can resume a normal watering schedule of 2 times per week approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
